Hello and welcome, one and all, to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics. We are excited to showcase a new addition to our MicroMod ecosystem – the new Single Pair Ethernet Function Board and Kit! This 10BASE-T1L Two-Wire Ethernet protocol is certain to optimize how data is transferred over a wired connection. Following that, we are also offering a new set of Third Hand options that allow for far more versatility than our existing models, including oscilloscope and SP10 probes. Now, let’s take a closer look at all of our new products!
10BASE-T1L protocol via MicroMod!
The SparkFun MicroMod Single Pair Ethernet Function Board introduces 10BASE-T1L Two-Wire Ethernet protocol into the SparkFun MicroMod ecosystem. Using the ADIN1110 Ethernet transceiver from Analog Devices Inc., this Function Board provides a development tool for long-range, 10Mb/s single-pair 10BASE-T1L Ethernet applications.
And in case you don’t know: MicroMod is a modular interface ecosystem that connects a microcontroller “processor board” to various “carrier board” peripherals. Utilizing the M.2 standard, the MicroMod standard is designed to easily swap out processors on the fly. Pair a specialized carrier board for the project you need with your choice of compatible processor!
The SparkFun MicroMod Single Pair Ethernet Kit demonstrates 10BASE-T1L Two-Wire Ethernet protocol within the SparkFun MicroMod ecosystem by using two SparkFun MicroMod Single Pair Ethernet Function Boards and including all the accessories to run a proof of concept example over 0.5 meters of cable; which can be helpful before installing application nodes 1700 meters apart to monitor remote equipment.
This kit can be used with an example based on two nodes. A MicroMod Single Main Board with a MicroMod Artemis processor and a MicroMod Single Main Board with a MicroMod ESP32 Processor processor. These two Main boards can be connected with the included 0.5 meter Industrial Ethernet Cable!
HARTING T1 Industrial Single-Pair Ethernet (SPE) Products feature a highly optimized, high-frequency design, shielding, and high mechanical robustness, making them an ideal choice to fulfill industrial SPE demands. This 0.5m long Single Pair Ethernet Cable enables Ethernet data transmissions by using only two wires (TW1STER) and the simultaneous power supply for terminals via a Power over Data Line (PoDL). SPE offers barrier-free connections for equipment, sensors/actuator technology, and more by using end-to-end, IP-based communications up into the field level.
The PCBite Kit is a great addition to any workstation. Give your arms a rest! This kit comes with a magnetic base plate (21mm x 14.75mm or 29.75mm x 21mm), and four PCB holders. The magnetic base keeps the PCB holders in place while allowing you to keep both hands free to work. This is ideal for clamping PCBs for soldering, desoldering, or rework.
This passive 1:1 probe is suitable for signal measurements and logic analyzers for high speed serial communication interfaces like SPI, CAN, USB, JTAG, I2C, UART etc. The probe can also be used for resistance and voltage measurements, power and grounding of devices with continues currents of maximum two ampere.
